1.Prayer
is the highest form of communication with the divine. Martin Luther King once said, “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” Prayer connects us with God—the Greatest Power—and reminds us that there’s more to life than the physical.
I can personally confirm that life is spiritual. During my A-Level final ZIMSEC exam, I suddenly lost my sight—an experience witnessed by both students and teachers. I had studied hard, yet I couldn’t see a thing. The school chaplain came and prayed for me, and miraculously, my sight was restored. Some said another student had been spiritually tapping into my brain to write her own exam. But when prayer intervened, she left—and I regained my vision.
When we are spiritually weak, others can take advantage. Prayer isn’t just about asking—it’s about opening your heart to receive divine guidance.
2. Purpose
Purpose is the why behind your actions. Why are you doing what you’re doing? Why are you listening to me now? Purpose gives direction, clarity, and fulfillment.
Let me share a true story. In my neighborhood, I met a retired lecturer from the University of Zimbabwe. I asked him the secret to becoming a great man. He replied,
“Greatness lies in discovering your purpose and pursuing it with everything you’ve got.”
That advice changed me. I began reading, learning, exploring my talents—and eventually found my purpose. I am now working tirelessly toward it. When you know your purpose, you unlock true potential.
3. Principles
Principles are your inner compass—your non-negotiable values. They define how you pursue your goals and interact with the world.
Five key principles that guide success:
Dream Big
Work Hard
Learn Daily
Be Yourself
Enjoy Life
If you set your own principles, you’re more likely to respect and stick to them. They become your anchor in hard times and your standard in times of choice.
4. Patience
Patience is the ability to wait without becoming angry or frustrated. It’s about accepting the timing of life, even when things take longer than expected.
Many people give up too soon, seeking shortcuts to success. But there are no real shortcuts. “When everything feels like an uphill struggle, remember—the view from the top is worth it.”
Patience is not passive—it’s powerful. It teaches us to endure with grace and focus.
5. Persistence
Persistence is the refusal to give up. It’s what pushes us through failure and difficulty. While patience waits, persistence moves forward.
Persistent people understand that success isn’t handed over—it’s earned through effort, failure, and trying again. Think of someone whose accomplishment you admire in you day to day life—their journey is usually proof that persistence pays off. When you combine patience and persistence, you’re unstoppable.
6. Passion
Passion fuels success. It gives you energy, motivation, and the will to keep going. You don’t have to be good at everything—just be passionate about something and master it.
Do what you love, and love what you do. Passion brings joy, purpose, and depth to your work.
7. Positivity
Positive thinking doesn’t mean ignoring problems—it means facing them with confidence.
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7
Your thoughts shape your reality. Science shows that the brain responds to imagination the same way it does to real experience. That’s why maintaining a positive mindset is crucial.
Always believe the best is yet to come. Feed your mind with hope, not fear.
