END THE PHOBIA | Yacket-Yak

Variables once used to abhor,
criticized and stereotyped,
creating a horrid stigma.

Society amassed with slander,
humanity drowning in peril,
memes of hate circulating freely –
normalizing abuse and hurt.

Tyres and flames consume
speakers of a different language,
sojourners within the state.

Abuse is unleashed,
death hails upon them.

Like a phoenix of fear rising,
terror wreaks its havoc,
forcing them to stagger
into lonely isolation.

End xenophobia!

Prejudice rolled like dice,
hate speech spat carelessly
toward those who love.

Dirty glances are cast,
harassment hurled like stones.

Dubbed unholy, unnatural –
but who are you
to play God?

Locking them in closets,
bashing them for who they are.

End xenophobia!

Why create social repression?
Why decant one another
by race, gender,
sexual orientation, creed,
nationality, tribe, or ethnicity?

Marching the world
toward an era of doom,
using violence
to justify rotten theories.

Crucifying others
for a life unchosen—
they are what they are
because they were born so.

Bashing them for who they are.

End homophobia.

Let us end hooliganism
and barbarism.

Download an open mind.
Upload diversity.

Our differences
should connect us –
for we cannot all be the same.

Conservatism,
cast into the furnace.

Acceptance,
brought into the light.

And a safer world emerges,
where everyone can stand freely,
expressing who they are.

Learning to love
each human variable,

with all phobias
deleted
from the cloud.
